Parisa Rezvani

DIT / \ Colorist / \ Visual Anthropologist

ABOUT

Parisa Rezvani is an IATSE DIT and colorist, based in Los Angeles, CA. In her spare time, she explores and creates projects as a Visual Anthropologist. While toggling between all three passions, she has found that each passion has informed the other in an expansive and valuable way.

As a DIT, Parisa has worked on feature films, tv shows, and commercials. With each DP's vision in mind, she helps refine and finesse the image before it enters the post pipeline. In addition, while on set, she makes sure to honor the requirements needed by the post facility, because she knows the consequences of poorly delivered material, since she works in post herself. She is an active International Cinematographers Guild Local 600 member.

As a colorist, Parisa has worked on narrative feature films, commercials, music videos, web series and documentaries. With each project, she allows the color to subtly be guided by the story. Just like she does on set, while in post, she considers the choices made on set to help her construct the color arch. Furthermore, her work as a Visual Anthropologist has trained her eye to see the vast contextual references of color in a story, allowing her to use color to embolden and complicate the narrative.

As a Visual Anthropologist, Parisa is interested in examining everyday mundane behaviors, and unpacking them to see the greater context of society and culture at hand, while being playful doing it. She has presented innovative paper sessions at the American Ethnological Society Conference and the SSEA Annual Conference. Her recent works have included the interactive exploration of the contemporary anthropologist, and the quarter-life crisis amongst college graduates in the U.S.

Parisa Rezvani holds a Masters in Visual Anthropologist from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelors of Arts in Socio-Cultural Anthropology with a Minor in Economics from the University of California, San Diego.
